Guessing until near the end!Definitely kept me guessing until near to the end。 Could not put this one down at times。 Good read! Good development of character lines。 Despite multiple character not difficult to keep their identity and roles clear as you read along。

Paris never disappoints with her writing。 Great book that took me by surprise!

3。5 stars Super quick read however some parts felt a little drawn out and others (the ending) felt rushed。

I like B。 A。 Paris' books because they are well told -- I especially like to listen to them。 Also, they often end with a twist, and this one, her newest, throws are really twist in the last few moments。 An entertaining story, set in London, you think you have it figured out, and then you do。。。。but you don't。 I like B。 A。 Paris' books because they are well told -- I especially like to listen to them。 Also, they often end with a twist, and this one, her newest, throws are really twist in the last few moments。 An entertaining story, set in London, you think you have it figured out, and then you do。。。。but you don't。 。。。more

Too slow。 The story didn't pick up until the final forty or so pages but at that time, I was over it。 I was a huge fan of her first book, Behind Closed Doors, so I've been disappointed that none of her work since has been worth reading。 Too slow。 The story didn't pick up until the final forty or so pages but at that time, I was over it。 I was a huge fan of her first book, Behind Closed Doors, so I've been disappointed that none of her work since has been worth reading。 。。。more

B。A。Paris once again manages to write a psychological thriller that keeps the reader guessing AND on the edge!Right from the start, it doesn't seem that Alice and Leo were truly meant for each other。 How much can you really know about a person who you've only dated "on weekends" for almost two years? They decide to move in together in a close-knit, gated community where all the neighbors seem to be keeping a secret。 When Alice learns what that secret is, she becomes a super-sleuth trying to solve a crime that everyone tells her to leave alone! The friends she makes (or are they friends?) and Leo all become suspects in her mind and all their actions become questionable。 And strange things are beginning to happen in her house when she is alone there。。。。which is often as Leo works away during the week。 With the help of a handsome private investigator, Alice feels like she is making headway on the crime, and in making some changes in her life。 But does she really have the crime figured out? Who can she really trust, and is that the right person? And where does the therapist fit in。。。and who is it? Great read!!! Recommend it to other readers who are fans of this genre。 Thank you to NetGalley and St。 Martin's Press。 for the opportunity to read and review this advance reader copy。 #NetGalley #TheTherapist 。。。more

The plot revolves around Alice who has recently moved in to a gated community known as The Circle, with her partner Leo。 Tired of their ldr and wanting to spend some time together, they think this is a good move for their relationship。I found the mc problematic from the start。 Even though she says she’s just investigating stuff, she crosses boundaries multiple times, she willingly puts herself into danger, she suspects EACH & EVERYONE around her, it was annoying after a certain point。The writing The plot revolves around Alice who has recently moved in to a gated community known as The Circle, with her partner Leo。 Tired of their ldr and wanting to spend some time together, they think this is a good move for their relationship。I found the mc problematic from the start。 Even though she says she’s just investigating stuff, she crosses boundaries multiple times, she willingly puts herself into danger, she suspects EACH & EVERYONE around her, it was annoying after a certain point。The writing could have been better, as I did not feel much connect between two events。 It felt like Alice did lots of chatting with her neighbours, repetitively, about the same topic again and again。 I still enjoyed this book though。 I could not guess the end, but I guessed all the twists that were thrown, way beforehand。There are two types of thrillers, one that bowls you over with something you had never seen coming, and the other wherein there comes such a point that the story is written in such a way, that it’s impossible to guess the culprit。 There are two paths the story can go, and either way works fine coz of the structure of the plot。 It pretty much depends on the author what path they choose and how they explain their choice。 I enjoy the former ones more。 This book, is the latter one。The tension was quite high in this one during the end, and I liked it。 I am still not sure about the possibility of THAT (end) happening, but 🤷🏻‍♀️I would still recommend it though, as it’s a perfect quick read if you’re looking for something entertaining!Domestic thriller + Slow burn。 。。。more

Wish I could give more than 5 stars。 I absolutely LOVED this book。 The storyline, characters, theme everything just kept going until the very end。 Lately I've been reading a lot of books along this genre and usually figure it out about halfway through but this one was tough。 The fact that everyone had their own reasons for being suspects just made the ending even more shocking。 The main character grew kind of annoying but it played well with the psychological theme of the book。 This is my first Wish I could give more than 5 stars。 I absolutely LOVED this book。 The storyline, characters, theme everything just kept going until the very end。 Lately I've been reading a lot of books along this genre and usually figure it out about halfway through but this one was tough。 The fact that everyone had their own reasons for being suspects just made the ending even more shocking。 The main character grew kind of annoying but it played well with the psychological theme of the book。 This is my first B。A Paris novel and I can't wait to dive into more。 。。。more

The Therapist is a twisty, hard to put down thriller by one of my favorite suspense authors, B。A。 Paris。 I had high hopes for this book, and I am glad to say it didn't disappoint。 After Alice moves to a new house in a gated community in London with her new partner Leo, she discovers that a woman was murdered in it previously。 After finding the truth about her new home, Alice feels uneasy staying there, especially when strange and sinister things start to happen。 The woman's husband was the suspe The Therapist is a twisty, hard to put down thriller by one of my favorite suspense authors, B。A。 Paris。 I had high hopes for this book, and I am glad to say it didn't disappoint。 After Alice moves to a new house in a gated community in London with her new partner Leo, she discovers that a woman was murdered in it previously。 After finding the truth about her new home, Alice feels uneasy staying there, especially when strange and sinister things start to happen。 The woman's husband was the suspect, but the case is not so cut-and-dry, and Alice becomes obsessed with learning more about the couple who occupied the house previously and the gruesome murder。 This book is very engrossing, with twists that I didn't see coming。 Like Alice, I suspected almost every one of murder except the actual killer。 If you are looking for a gripping domestic thriller, I highly recommend The Therapist。 *ARC provided by the publisher via Edelweiss 。。。more

Overall this was a good thriller。 Nothing to go ga ga over。 Held my interest and kept me guessing。I felt it dragged on a bit。 Felt a little blah in places。 Other than that I think it would make for a great beach read。 Defiantly a book you can plow through in one day。

#thetherapist by @baparisauthor was a fun easy summer thriller! We really enjoyed the author’s debut novel #behindcloseddoors and this one had a similar vibe。 Alice moves into a posh gated community and begins to discover secrets about her home and neighbours。 This was a quick read, and we were eager to find out the truth with Alice。 Pure escapism! This is a good thriller to pick up if you are looking for a twisty read。

Why does she suspect every person she meets of being a murderer (including her boyfriend), but she is not at all suspicious of some strange man who crashes her party?!It also doesn't make sense that Thomas/John got away with the murder, but encourages Alice to investigate。 And she believes everything he says and falls for every fake lead he feeds her。 I was looking forward to reading this but it was disapp 2。5 starsI agree with some of the other reviewers about how stupid and clueless Alice was! This is my fourth try with this author and that is at least two too many。 We are definitely not compatible。 Some people think of the books as psychological suspense。 I think of them as stupid women running around in circles。 After reading about a third of the book I skimmed to the end and suspicions about this book were confirmed。 I will not be lured in by any more blurbs of this author’s books。 I received a free copy of this book from the publisher。

This was a 3 star read for me。 I liked a lot of the book。 It had a little creep factor and mystery to it。 But I felt it had a lot of unnecessary, repetitive dialogue。 There were also a lot of characters to keep straight, it got a little confusing。 There was a twist at the end, but it didn't knock my socks off and I felt a little disappointed after investing so much time。 Overall, it was a quick and easy read, just not sure if I would recommend it。 This was a 3 star read for me。 I liked a lot of the book。 It had a little creep factor and mystery to it。 But I felt it had a lot of unnecessary, repetitive dialogue。 There were also a lot of characters to keep straight, it got a little confusing。 There was a twist at the end, but it didn't knock my socks off and I felt a little disappointed after investing so much time。 Overall, it was a quick and easy read, just not sure if I would recommend it。 。。。more

Good beach read I would call this book a good beach read - or a great daytime read - because some parts scared the crap out of me!!! Haha! Seriously, the author does a great job conveying the creepiness and the paranoia of the protagonist。 The one major thing I didn’t love about the book was the part that dealt with Alice’s obsession with people who shared the same name as her sister。 I thought that was unrealistic and silly。 But overall, I really liked trying to figure out the mystery along wit Good beach read I would call this book a good beach read - or a great daytime read - because some parts scared the crap out of me!!! So much of this book did not ring true to me。 Reactions, thinking, conversations and conclusions of characters seemed off。 Maybe the author spread through the writing too quick?

Usual good thriller by this author。 I was initially disappointed that there weren’t more of Nina’s flashback chapters as I was curious about her, but I understood why they were sparse by the end。 I didn’t guess what was going on。 End twist was unexpected。
